Board of Elections

The Clairmont County Board of Elections registers voters, maintains the county’s precinct and polling place structure, administers voting equipment, and conducts all federal, state, and local elections held within the county, per ORC Chapter 3501. The Board is a bipartisan four-member body appointed by the Ohio Secretary of State; day-to-day operations are managed by Director Nancy Arbogast and Deputy Director Timothy Kelch.

Next election: General Election – Tuesday, November 3, 2026.
Voter registration deadline: October 5, 2026.
Early in-person voting begins: October 6, 2026 at the Board office.

Voter Registration

Ohio residents may register or update their registration at the Board office, by mail, or at any Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles deputy registrar location. Registration (including address or name changes) must be received or postmarked no later than 30 days before an election – for the November 3, 2026 General Election, the deadline is October 5, 2026. Voters may confirm their registration status and assigned precinct by calling the Board office.

Early & Absentee Voting

Early in-person voting for the November 3, 2026 General Election begins October 6, 2026 at the Board office, 118 Water St, Marbury, and continues through the Monday before the election. Absentee ballots by mail may be requested using the standard Ohio absentee ballot application; completed applications must be received by the Board no later than three days before the election. Voters are encouraged to submit absentee applications well in advance to allow time for mailing.

Polling locations are assigned by precinct and may change between elections; voters should confirm their polling place before each election, particularly after a move or a township redistricting. The table below reflects polling locations current as of the 2026 General Election.

Polling places are subject to change due to facility availability; notice of any change is mailed to affected voters in advance of the election as required by ORC 3501.29.

Poll Workers

The Board recruits and trains poll workers for each election and welcomes applications from registered voters throughout the year. Poll workers are paid a stipend per election and must complete state-mandated training before serving. Interested residents may call the office or watch county employment postings.
