Website Privacy Policy
This policy describes the information collected when you visit clairmontcounty.org and how it is used. This policy applies only to this website, not to information collected by county offices through other channels.
Information Collected Automatically
The county’s web server automatically logs the date and time of each request, the page requested, the visitor’s IP address, browser type, and referring page. These logs are used for security monitoring, troubleshooting, and aggregate traffic statistics, and are retained per the county’s records retention schedule (RC-2, series IS-04: 90 days).
Cookies
This site sets a single session cookie (PHPSESSID) that is required for
interactive features such as the Building Permit Search to function. The cookie contains a
random identifier only — no personal information — and expires when you close your
browser. No advertising or third-party tracking cookies are used.
Information You Provide
Search terms entered into the permit search are processed to run your query and are retained in your session while you page through results. Email sent to county addresses is retained per the applicable retention schedule and, like most correspondence with the county, may be a public record subject to disclosure under ORC 149.43.
Third-Party Links
Pages on this site may link to other governments and organizations. The county is not responsible for the privacy practices or content of other sites.
Security
Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used to protect this website. Nothing in this policy creates a private right of action or a warranty of any kind.
Adopted by the Board of County Commissioners, Res. 2019-014, as amended 02/2023. Questions: webmaster@clairmontcounty.org.
