Civil Process
The Civil Division serves summonses, subpoenas, evictions, and other process issued by the courts within Clairmont County. Fees for civil process are established by the Board of County Commissioners and are generally collected by the Clerk of Courts at the time of filing. Attorneys and self-represented litigants with questions about service status may call the Civil Division directly.
Road Patrol & Records
Deputies patrol all twelve townships and respond to calls in incorporated villages that do not maintain their own police department. Copies of incident and traffic crash reports may be requested in person or by mail; a standard copy fee applies. See public records requests for the current fee and required information.
Dog Warden Enforcement
While dog licensing is handled by the County Auditor, complaints of unlicensed, stray, or dangerous dogs are investigated by the County Dog Warden, who operates under the Sheriff’s general law enforcement authority for dog bite and dangerous dog matters under ORC Chapter 955.
