Position Summary
The Sheriff's Office is hiring Corrections Officers to supervise inmates at the county jail, maintain security, and ensure the safety of staff and inmates.
Essential Duties
- Supervises inmates during all phases of custody, including intake, housing, and release.
- Conducts security checks, headcounts, and searches per jail policy.
- Documents incidents and completes required reports.
- Responds to medical and behavioral emergencies within the facility.
- Transports inmates to court appearances and medical appointments as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; must be at least 21 years of age.
- Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy Corrections Officer certification, or ability to obtain within the probationary period.
- Must pass a background investigation, physical agility test, and psychological evaluation.
- Available to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
