Position Summary
The County Engineer's office is hiring a Highway Worker II to perform road maintenance, construction, and snow and ice control duties throughout the county highway system.
Essential Duties
- Operates dump trucks, motor graders, and other heavy equipment for road maintenance and snow removal.
- Performs pavement patching, ditching, mowing, and sign maintenance.
- Responds to winter storm call-outs, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Performs routine maintenance and safety checks on assigned equipment.
Minimum Qualifications
- Valid Ohio commercial driver's license (Class B) required at time of hire.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be available for emergency call-out during winter weather events.
- Background check and pre-employment drug screen required.
