Position Summary
The General Health District is seeking a Registered Sanitarian or Sanitarian-in-Training to conduct inspections and enforce state and local public health regulations governing food service, private water systems, and sewage treatment systems.
Essential Duties
- Conducts routine and complaint-based inspections of food service operations and retail food establishments.
- Reviews plans for, and inspects, household sewage treatment systems and private water systems.
- Investigates nuisance complaints and communicable disease reports as assigned.
- Prepares inspection reports and enforcement correspondence.
- Provides public education on environmental health topics.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree meeting Ohio registration requirements for Sanitarian-in-Training; Ohio Registered Sanitarian license preferred.
- Valid driver's license required; position requires daily countywide travel.
- Sanitarians-in-Training must obtain full registration within the period allowed by the Ohio Board of Sanitarian Registration.
