Position Summary
Job & Family Services is hiring an Eligibility/Referral Specialist to determine eligibility for Medicaid, SNAP, and cash assistance programs and to refer clients to appropriate county and community services.
Essential Duties
- Interviews applicants and reviews documentation to determine program eligibility.
- Processes applications and periodic redeterminations within state timeliness standards.
- Refers clients to workforce, energy assistance, and other county programs as appropriate.
- Maintains case records in the state eligibility system.
- Responds to client inquiries by phone and in person.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate degree in a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
- Civil service examination required; eligible list established from test results.
- Background check required prior to appointment.
- Valid driver's license preferred.
