Position Summary
The Sheriff's Office is seeking a 911 Dispatcher to answer emergency and non-emergency calls, operate the county's computer-aided dispatch system, and coordinate radio traffic for law enforcement, fire, and EMS units countywide.
Essential Duties
- Answers 911 and non-emergency phone lines and determines the appropriate response.
- Enters and monitors calls for service using the CAD/records management system.
- Dispatches and tracks law enforcement, fire, and EMS units by radio.
- Enters and verifies warrant, protection order, and stolen property information in LEADS/NCIC.
- Maintains shift logs and completes required reports.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must obtain LEADS/NCIC certification within 90 days of hire.
- Able to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Successful completion of a background investigation and typing/multitasking assessment required.
