| Instrument | Fee |
|---|---|
| Standard instrument, first two pages | $34.00 |
| Each additional page | $8.00 |
| Additional parcel reference (per parcel, after the first) | $4.00 |
| Non-conforming document surcharge (per ORC 317.114) | $20.00 |
| Certified copy of a recorded document | $2.00 per page |
Instruments must meet Ohio’s standard document formatting requirements (ORC 317.114) – minimum 3-inch top margin on the first page, 1.5-inch margins elsewhere, black ink, and legible 8-point or larger type – or the non-conforming surcharge applies.
Deed Transfers
Before a deed may be recorded it must first be presented to the County Auditor’s transfer desk so the parcel may be conveyed on the tax duplicate and any conveyance fee collected under ORC 319.54. Once transferred, bring the original instrument to this office for recording. Copies are not accepted in place of the signed, notarized original.
Searching Records
Grantor/grantee and tract indices are available for public search at the counter during office hours. Older records, particularly those recorded before 1960, may exist only in bound volumes and can require staff assistance to locate. This office does not perform title searches or provide legal advice; residents needing a full title examination should consult a title company or attorney.
Veterans’ Discharge Records
Honorably discharged veterans and their immediate family may record a DD-214 discharge document with this office at no charge, per ORC 317.24. Recorded discharge records are sealed from public view and released only to the veteran, next of kin, or a person holding written authorization. Veterans seeking help with benefits claims should also contact the Veterans Service Office.
